    BHO 8590 Fitment

    Ok,
    so I bought a C43 out of an 00 M3,
and I bought the Best Kits BHO 8590 adapter...
Looks like I am going to have to take a Dremel to the Harness Kit to get it to slide down into the back of the radio...
is this normal, or am I just being stupid here and missing something?
    Thanks,
    Brad

Brad, I ain't gonna call you stupid, but that harness fits every one I have ever done flawlessly.

    How about a pic?

my camera does not do well with close up shots but I will try my best to explain my situation...
so I will use the auction pics...

so you know the little tabs/ears on the back of the radio,

it looks as if they slide into the grooves in the harness which then slides down into place,
      http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_1233wt_958
well, I can get the lower tabs started but it catches on the harness chassis (if you will) before the upper tabs can start, or do I just spread it out and force it?
The radio came with the factory harness (it looks like) and it shows using a screwdriver to pry it up to get it out but I don't want to force anything or break anything considering I just bought it all....
To me, it looks like it should be a direct push it, but the tabs and the channels on the harness seems to make it "a slide in" type deal but how would you slide into the posts on the back of radio?????....
I decided that I am going to buy all new cables and speakers after stalling on this little project today...

I will say that the harness you have is about the most violent ones there are!

Be judicious, but yeah, force it.

From what I recall when I did my C43 retrofit is you just open the harness by sliding it apart, plug it in, then slide it to clamp it closed.

EDIT: I didn't use any force or a screwdriver, so I'm not sure if you want to do that.

                        Me 2

I was a bit baffled by that particular connector also, when I did a DICE connection in my 95 M3 a few weeks ago. I finally found out (by accident) that is does take a rather forceful SLIDE to open. Then plug it in and slide closed. It wasn't terribly intuitive for me, but I'm relatively stupid, plus this was my first one. The next ones will be the proverbial cake walk.

Patrick, you should NOT have said that. Pull a C33 out of a '92 E36 sedan with the stupid twat who owns this oxidized shitheap of a "Beemer" watching as you crush the case with a screwdriver...oh yeah, ask how I know...
