Amp for a pair of 12W3s?

I just picked up a pair of 12W3 V2s from CarToys today for a killer price, about $150 for the pair :) Subs are 6 Ohm :? but I think I can live with that

Now I need a good amplifier to push them, any suggestions? I have my eye on the JL 500/1 and if I can find one for a decent price I will probably pick it up.

Also, is there anybody on this site that can build or offer me build specs for a behind the rear seat box? Trunk space isn't at too much of a premium.

    Thanks

I would definately go with a JL 500/1 or 1000/1.

2 12W3v2's are going to be way too much bass IMO.

If he already bought them he probably knows how loud they will be.

      Use this:
For nearly half a century, JL Audio has produced outstanding audio products engineered to deliver world-class sound for the most demanding customers.

Uhm...weren't the original W6 woofers also 6 ohm? What does it matter, anyway? If he gets a JL amp it will be a moot point.

Since both subs are DVC you can run them as a combined 1.5Ω load. The JL amps will be fine with that.

Loud is good and yes, I knew full well the potential of these subs before I bought them.

                  I like my music loud...and booming 8)

500/1 is about $500 retail and the 1000/1 is about $800 retail :(

Get a Soundstream Reference 1000 or a Phoenix Gold M100. They're less than the JL amps. They'll both fucking rock the shit out of those subs.

are either of those amps going to be happy driving a 1.5Ω load all day?
