Alright so last weekend I installed what I had of my old system and few new additions. It consists of the following:
all in a BMW 91 318is e30 with what I believe is the factory alternator, new battery purchased the same day.
-1 10" Alpine Type X Sup
-1 500/1 JL amp running the sub
- Boston Acoustic SX50 speakers all around (5.25)
-300/4 JL amp running to the speakers
-JVC KD-AVX77 head unit
- Wiring sizes, etc. can be provided if you think it will help, pretty much all JL 2awg and 4awg for power, JL and Monster wire to the speakers, and JL signal cable
-100 farad Kinetik Audio capacitor that seems to not be working
Here is what happens.
The music (sub and speakers) will entirely go off for about 2 seconds, then I hear the speakers come on very faintly, and then everything kicks back on, it takes maybe 8 seconds for the whole thing to happen. The head unit doesn't lose power. The 300/4 amp does not lose power (according to the light) but again the speakers cut out, however the 500/1 kicks off. The fuse has been replaced, all connections seem fine to the amps and battery. Please help, I will provide any info needed.
1 separate issue: The capacitor/battery thing is installed correct, but my lights still dim, i just hooked it right up to the alternator, does it need charged or could it be bad?
