    Amp Help

I want to (eventually) run a Clarion DXZ745MP deck with Infinity Kappa's in my car; two tweeters up front, two six's up front and two 5x9's in the back. I don't want a sub as my car is way too small for that much bass. I also don't want the weight or the loss in room. What I need to know is will I want to go with an amp for the speakers or not? I was originally thinking to go without to keep cost down, but now I am biased. Do you guys suggest installing an amp to run the speakers? TIA.

Go with a 4 channel amp (4 x 40 or 4 x 50) and run the fronts off of channels 1 and 2 and then bridge channels 3 and 4 to an 8" sub (no weight compromise compared to the pair of 5x7s and you'll get MUCH better bass response).

Yeah, ditch the rear speakers, and run a small sub. Something like a truck style box wouldn't take up much room at all, would fit nicely against your back seat, and if you sealed it up good, will provide quite a bit of bass.

Uh, I don't have a rear seat so I can't put a box behind it. The only real place to mount a sub and have it look good would be in the rear deck that covers the spare tire compartment. But I want to be able to keep my spare in there and a box holding an 8 inch would sit above my head if it were behind me. So really, a sub is out of the question.
