    does anyone know if bmw offered a factory in dash cd player for e30's?

    i might have a line on one but up until today, i had never even heard of such a thing.

    does anyone know if there was a rare factory option for this?

    From what I remember, they did not. In fact, many car companies at that time did not offer a factory CD player. Most were aftermarket by companies like Blaupunkt, Kenwood, & Alpine.

        Actually in Europe they did offer an in-dash cd player (for late european models). I'll try to find pictures of it for you. I saw one on eBay a year ago.

            Unless I was going for a super OEM build, I'd probably pass on it. CD players in the late '80's/ early 90's were nothing fantastic from an audiophile perspective and most of them skipped like a gay kid at Chuck E. Cheese.

              they did but not very many. I swapped one out on a late model. they are a big pile of shit though. remember when the first discmans came out? how they would skip if you breathed on them wrong? those decks aren't any better.
