Advice on a head unit for my car

I've been reading through threads in here and I see that a lot of people recommend the Clarion to match the E30's dash illumination. I was just curious if there are other options. I am not really an audiophile; I just want a decent stereo. My only requirements are that it either matches the illumination or comes decently close, and that it has an auxillary input so I can use my MP3 player. I'd also like to keep the price down. $200 is around what I'd like to spend.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Clarion dxz645mp - a bit less than 200 shipped on eBay. I think it'd be perfect for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can anybody explain how rear auxillary input works? I have a cable that is like a headphone jack on either end. It's what my friend uses in his car but he has front auxillary input. Would I be able to use that with rear or would I need something else?

why would you need to hook up your cd player to play mp3s when that deck already plays mp3s? j/w

the cable you need has two RCA (male) connections to plug into cabling on the back of the head unit (at least on the Clarion), and a mini phono jack to plug into an MP3 player (like an iPod). I got mine at Radio Shack.

Ditto, the cable was like $10 or so.

He wants to hook up an external mp3 player such as an iPod.

I have the dxz745mp with my iPod hooked up to it.

Well I guess I will just use MP3 CDs. I have a Creative Labs 256MB MP3 player used primarily for working out, jogging, etc. So it sounds like the CDs would be my best bet. Still, it'd be nice to have the auxillary input because I know there will be a time when I have a song on my player that I don't have on CD.

I just ordered pioneers 6700 from cardomain. They price matched it off of millionbuy.com. millionbuy.com has a lot of stuff and their prices are really cheap you should check it out if you are still in the market.
