Please don't post unless you know something about the topic.

very nice... thats very similar to what i had planned... although my map pockets are layout out differently... im still sourcing some parts as i dont want to modify the stock parts without having a backup just in case i want to sell down the line..

what did you do with the hood release

any pics out how you installed the screen and dealt with the uneven sides of that space

I didn't modify my map pockets or anything on the car, these are pods that mount using factory-location attachments.

The hood release is unmodified, the MB Quart grilles from my old speakers were slim enough to fit under the handle. They have since been replaced by regular kick panels covered in carpet.

The screen was mounted using bondo to make a mold that formed along the sides and recesses of the console, as well as the sides of the monitor. after drying and shaping/sanding, I applied vinyl and it pressed into place with no modifications to the console.

I designed my entire system to use the factory attachment points so I could make the interior original for whatever reason.

nice install. what kind of steering wheel is that. it looks nice.
i had to modify my hood release. all you have to do is get longer bolts, and a bunch of washers. i only had to use about 3 washers on each side. but you may have to use more depending on what speakers/grills you have.

It's an Evo3 suede wheel, available from the BMW dealer. You can also get it with leather too.

It definitely depends on what grill you have - in my 318 I have a 3/4 inch aluminum spacer on the hood release - and it barely works still! The M3 didn't need any modifications though.

I was thinking about wether or not it would be possible to mount a hood pull like on some other cars, one that is under the dash panel instead of on the side. I can't think of any off hand that are like this, but I know they exist.

you could also hook a door look actuator (if its strong enough) up to the cable and have it open electronically.

That is hella sweet! I've seen a monitor there before, but not as clean as that.

It is actually making me think about getting a monitor and dvd player this summer if a $4-6000 scholarship comes in my favor. (I have no privacy at home, and that would be a nice date...chillen in the car with some flicks. 8) )

How much Dvd, monitor cost? What work went into mounting that screen?

You know... that'd be a damn sweet little trick. Have a hood release button.

i have an extra actuator and i started to build custom parts to pull it off. i let you know when im done and if it works. (i have an extra button on my remote so i think im gonna make it open the hood).

geez thats freaking sweet, and here i am trying to justify a full set of kappa perfect's to go in with no modification. you may have just convinced me to go all out.

i have bondo'd a few things in my day but not many have looked as flush as that. you are a pro

It doesn't look like it'd be that hard to put in that LCD. It looks like you'd just have to cut a piece of MDF to fit perfectly in there and then spray adhesive some thin foam padding onto it and wrap it in leather or vinyl. It looks to me like that's what he did.

It is bondo formed to fit, then sanded, then vynil heat shrunk around it
