Mounting MB Quart tweeters in pods

i pried the old tweeters out of their pods. i know have 3 pieces:
    sail panel tweeter pod
plastic mount tweeter was glued into
    grill
and the old tweeter of course

it was a real pain getting all those pieces unglued from each other. i have pics, i'll try and post them later.

now i'm trying to mount my new tweeters. the tweeter is a bit too small (about a 1/8" gap all the way around) to fit in just the panel. and the old mount is not a good fiit. i'd have to cut away a lot of plastic and glue the tweeter in somehow, then glue the mount in to the panel. would silicone be a good way to mount the tweeter? i'd have to be careful, but it should work.

i tried placing the new tweeter in the mbquart grills and with that combo the tweeter fits nicely in the factory panel w/ factory grill installed. but isn't the prettiest install.

    what have you guys done?

    My CDT tweeters:

You can see Jordan's MB tweets in this pic:

You could easily silicone them in from the rear.

Diamond Audio M3s surface mounted with rivets to standard sail panels. They cracked over time, so I'm looking for premium sail panels.

i'll probably just end up installing the MB Quart grills inside the factory grills. seems to hold the tweeters in there tightly

if i can remember i'll try and post some pics

i dont care as much how it looks as to how it sounds

Well then just get some good speakers and aim them the right way and you'll be set. The factory tilt isn't as optimized as it should be, so you might see about finding a way to swivel them or even do like Jordan did (at least what it looks like) and fabricate a different mounting position on the sail panel.
