    Glove Box Issue

I just finished installing a new 4 channel amp today in my 85 318i and after running wires, removing seats, trim etc...all seemed to go well until I tried to put the glove box back together.

At first i was having difficulty re-installing the 3 screws that go in through the hinge on the back side...so i decided to lock the glove box back in . I now can not figure out how to unlock the damn thing. The lock assembly has engaged, but i can not unlock it. Ive tried wiggling and pulling, etc but dont want to break any trim. I wonder if something in the latch assembly came loose and now wont open? Has anyone had this issue before or have any advice on how to fix? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

If I understand you correctly, Pulling up on the LATCH wont open your GB? And any attempt to "unlock" it fails?
If so, you will have to remove the GB from the rear hinge and get a new latch.

Means the glove box is not aligned properly, I had the same issue.

To open it, pull the seat forward and try to push on the glovebox with your kneecaps and try to unlock it then. Worked in my case.

Appreciate the advice i will try out this week to see if it works.

To answer the last question: I had the right front crossover installed between the glovebox and top trim which is why i had to remove it. And as for the seats...I couldn't remove the screws holding the middle trim to the body which was preventing me from running the wires along the floor. All in all it was a bit of a pain but well worth it with the awesome sound quality i'm getting through my components now.

So i ended up trying the above advice with no luck. I did manage to break the damn thing off without ruining my dash trim. Problem now is the glove box and latch both need replacing. I hope the damn thing is not too expensive. At least the amp makes my components sound great :)
