    5.25 Component Suggestions

Hopefully Luke will chime in here along with everyone else. I just bought my wife an 87 325 and have been getting it ready for daily driver duty for her... lots o maintenance. Part of getting it ready was to add an mp3 radio with ipod interface for her and a sub. I've installed components in every car we've ever had so normal coax's don't cut it for either of us.

That being said anyone have any suggestions for a good, CHEAP ($60-$80), and reliable component system with silk dome tweeters? I am looking for silk dome tweets because my wife and I hate harsh highs, or even highs that are too bright. My usual go tos are becoming extremely hard to find for a reasonable price. I usually run old school Rockford Fosgate fanatic P's with really good results. Also tried old Infinity References with good outcomes. Can't find any of those so I am asking for suggestions.

Let me know what you think. I was looking at a set of Cerwin Vega HED-1502A's but can't find any info on whether the tweets are fabric or metallic dome. I've read some good reviews on them, but no specifics on the tweets.

    Thanks in advance...

            ^Too rich for my blood...

I've been looking at these: RE Audio 6.5". Anyone had any experience with these? I don't think they make in 5.25" though. I've had really nice results from their subs and thought I'd try these.

Luke... ya I'm hoping to find some old references or RF fanatic P's, but no luck yet. Not sure what amp question you're referring to though? I asked about the sub being good for your box... you said it would (I hope), because that's what's going in it on Wednesday when it gets here.

            Anyone else have other suggestions/ideas?

I was going to say I've got a set of JL XRs in 5.25" with a bi-amp able crossover that I'd sell, but if $145 is too rich for your blood, these will be too.
