    1987 vert, no reverse lights

Can someone enlighten me with the steps I should take to troubleshoot this issue. ALL other lights work except the freverse lights. I checked fuses and bulbs, but that wasn't it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would check the reverse light switch on the tranny...

#25 in the diagram, not sure if you have to drop the tranny to get to it.

Perhaps a solid connection wasn't being made with the socket and the harness.

I had a similar issue in my '92 vert. Robert @ E30MotorWerks reached up & reversed the wires (part #21) to the switch (part #25). Apparently, it's very common for even experienced mechanics to attach these wires improperly.

I've found it very easy to slip the blade of the switch into the rubber portion of the harness connector, but not making a good enough contact to close the circuit.

FWIW, I actually had to replace my short harness that passes through the shift boot. It lost continuity somewhere in the sheath.
