Standard vs Premium rear deck different?

I bought a set of rear premium speakers mainly for the enclosures that I'm going to try to put my PPi 355cs's in. So the other day I was looking back there and i got to wondering if the rear deck with the premium speakers is different than the standard one? The premiums don't really fit and the area by the seat belt looks like it should be more squared off?

So do I need a premium rear deck?

      AH!

So you cut the deck to make the speakers fit up closer to the seatbelt?

      Thanks.

john, just flip that rear deck over, it will all make sense...unless you have the really early rear deck, the totally flat one?

Yeah the rear deck I got came from BMW with no holes for speakers. You are tasked with punching out what you need.

Mine also came with a grease smudge. :???:

No, my car is a 91 318is with the low end full range paper ass speakers. I may use the perfect grills for the front like that other guy did.

'tis true...The grilles on the outside of that panel means basically no glove box.

Truth... go ahead and delete your hood latch while you're at it because it will be equally useless. I have to run grilleless for my fanatic p 6.5" ers. Luckily they have a pretty cone.
