    ecu help

    i have an automatic ecu and i have a manny car. so can someone run be by what i have to do to either trip the computer into thinking its neutral or something please??

      okay well i guess i have a ecu and wiring harness out of an 88 325is automatic. im doing the swap into my 87 325e. i already have the motor and everything else in. But whenever i go to start it. it wont crank or anything. so im just stuck

          it does nothing when you crank it?

          and an 88is ecu is not the same as an 87 eta ecu. look up what ecu is supposed to go with the motor and go from there. I believe an 87 eta should be an 027 ecu.

            oh and a five speed or automatic has nothing to do with the ecu. I swapped my 89 to a five speed and used the same ecu no problem. why do you think its the ecu?

              because he has a "no crank" condition: he needs to deal with the park position sensor wiring.

                well i was hoping it was physic haha but thats what this mechanic said it was. But i switched out the whole wiring harness and everything and the ecu. So all the sensors and everything were all with the motor when i got it. Im just stuck with not getting spark. Ill try to take some pictures of the other things i need help with
