    ICE install, cool custom work!

anywaysi think thinks its cool, this is on my "new" car a '91 318is. please give me feedback please and let me know what you think:

    my system:

......alpine everything except wiring which is phenoix gold, the amp's on 1/4 inch MDF with OE carpet, i also used the OE carpet to cover the battery cover. those are the rear crossovers in the middle. i had to modify the front kick panels to accomodate the front speakers.......i also did much more custom work (its the little things that count).

A- for effort - it's certainly more than I'd ever bother trying.

But the battery-tray cover looks pretty rough, the front kick panels too, and why'd you pick that spot for the tweeters in the rear deck? I'm no audiophile, but if you're going to go through the trouble of custom-mounting the tweeters in the back, shouldn't they be angled for better "imaging" or whatever it's called? Just a thought.

.....thought about angleing the rear tweeters, actually it would of been easier but i figured the sound waves would reflect of the rear windshield (and it looks nicer flush mounted). ya the front speakers where kind of a hack job, i forgot to take into account that once i cut out the plastic kick panel that there would be a 1" gap betwwen it and the speaker creating the speaker to be sunk in WAY to deep. anyways thatnk for the compliments i have about 20 hours into the setup.

                cool.

Do you have your sub box secured, or is it just sitting there?

the people at alpine build box's for a living. and the box for it is specifically designed for my sub. so im gonna trust alpine to build my box.

right now its just sitting there (kinda sucks i cant take corners to fast) but im putting in a rear strut brace and mounting it to that as soon as i get the chance.

                      Great work.

I like the way you mounted the Amps, looks smooth

I think having the tweeters aiming up is fine, but I do think they would have looked better if they were closer and to the outside of the mid drivers.

                      Those fronts look factory.

Come up with a custom box though.

The main thing with building a box is its internal volume. If you don't want to do it have a pro build you something that looks better. You did all the rest yourself, so make it complete.

                      Good job
