    OBC Questions

When I got my car I had a 9 button OBC, beat to hell in it's best nature. I do see in the Parts For Sale section quite a few 13 button OBCs. Have a few questions...

So...does a 13 button OBC plug right in to the existing wiring connectors? I have seen complete wiring conversions being sold with the OBC units, does that need to be swapped in for the original wiring? I'm venturing into uncharted territory with wiring and electronics, but am willing to learn. Thanks in advance

13 button obc does not replace the 9 button as in plug-and-play. You do need a matching harness among other things to make it fully functional.

Gracias, Senor. So with the complete wiring harness from the 13-button OBC, would I need the corresponding cruise control stalks as well? With all this would it just be, swap out the 9-button OBC and swap in the 13_button Obc?

You don't need the stalk, you just wont have the remote scroll function. Also, you have to match the coding plug to your cluster or the MPG will be off.

Yes they have different numbers. Depending on your car you will need the right "typ" for your car. list here
To be sure just match the "typ"# with the one in your cluster(if you have one)
