    windows wtf

ok i feel i am man enough to eat some crow when needed ..well i got into my window issue a little more...;)

so on the passenger front i pull the panel off...i hit the switch and can here it click (does the same thing whether up or down)

so i pull the motor unit out.. with it out and still plugged in i hit the switch (might add i have only two good switches , other two dont do squat)

well the motor spins both ways ....so i am like wtf...i grab the window and can slide it up and down by hand with no issues (no grabbing or anything that obstructs or slows the movement)

so i slide the motor back in and try it again , just clicks..so i am wiggling it around (hoping it may work lol ) well with the motor slightly pulled out of the black unit it is attached to ..the fucking thing goes up and down (tho the directions are reversed from what you push on the button)

so anyone have an idea on how to get this thing to work with out issue or what i need to replace? i ve thought about maybe throwing a washer or shim in between to see if i can get it to work that way...but prefer to have it together correct

I just stuck an allen key in the manual crank on my one window that had a similar problem rolled it down and up and the window started working fine.

With the motors in place and the door card in there is a little round trim piece in on the door card. You can pop that off, and under there there might be a little cap, pop that off, and then there is the window motor. There is where you put the allen key to manually crank the window.

mine does not have that access on the door cards (its an 89 ,seems that when they changed it?)

and i didnt see any where on the motor unit to put a allen key ...but i can still move it up and down when the motor is out

is the shaft on the motor supposed to have any play in it?

well i got it to work at least temporarily ...i was playing around with it and when holding the motor if i hold it a little bit pulled back from the black piece that has the window gear in it and hit the switch it ll go up and down (not extremely smooth but works)

so i threw 3 small washers between the two pieces and it works till i figure out the exact problem
