Like what, the dual moving magnet tweeters, or the $1000/pr 4" mids...in 1988?

    i got nothing, bubba.

I do know where a Sony PCM converter box is, so you can record true PCM on your betamax is...

        holy crap.

Get me some model numbers, would ya? Maybe some pics too?

If you have the old gold gigantic amps, you might have the "current cascade output", which I would say might be the best sounding car amp in history. I have only ever heard one set: a single 12", a pair of 6.5", 4" and tweets, but it was phenomenal.

If you ever see the original brochures, they have 4 massive components in the trunk of a Legend. Absolutely fucking hilarious, there are no wires, no screws, nothing even close to an installed system. Classic Sony nonsense.

Are you talking about the Sony XES line that consisted of the P1, X1, T1, C1, etc? If so, definitely super rare equipment that is hard to come by these days. I don't have any of the information you need, but the following two web forums should be able to help:

I have some of these parts if anyone is interested... Its been in a box for a long while so I dont rem exactly which pieces of this kit I have, but Im pretty sure I have the tuner, head unit, and processing unit. I no longer have the amps and cd changer. I might even have the manual... I'll have to check.

That stuff was sooo far ahead of its time. I couldnt afford it when it came out and later on when I did have the funds, the Pioneer ODR system was better and thats what I ended up running.

                        Memories...

And not even close to the caliber of gear that the OP is mentioning...not trying to be an ass, just sayin'. The last of the quality Mobile ES head units that Sony made were the CDX-C910 and C90...it was pretty much all downhill after that for them and Sony stopped taking car audio seriously. It was a shame, because although they weren't perfect they still made some very nice gear during the '90's.
