Wierd speaker noise!!!

I have a Nakamichi head unit. When it is on in either the auxillary or CD function with no music playing I can hear a static type of noise coming only from my passenger side tweeter. The noise is intermitent. It will come and go every few seconds. This problem began today in conjuction with poor recprtion on certain AM stations. :( Any help would be great. :)

How's the wiring to your tweeters?

Have'nt checked yet. Too dark in the garage. That will be were I'll start though.
