    Good, cheap 5 channel amp

$200 shipped is a hell of a deal. I keep trying to get Titanium Power to make this same amp...hell of a deal, IMO.

Doesn't look like it. My Alpine has a setting that turns the rear pre-amp outputs into Sub output. My plan is to use this function and use the high output into the high inputs for the rear and of course the preamp outputs for the front. This should give me some adjustability. We will see.

Take a look in the manual when you get it.

I'm hoping it'll be able to sum the F+R (first 4 channels) and use that to create a sub channel output. Most amps have a feature like that, but I can't find the manual online (PPIs website is out-of-date in the manual section) and the settings on the amp isn't helping things.

If it can do this, this'll bump to my short list of amps I'm looking at for my speakers+sub.

I know it does that, it has an "input mode" switch that shows it.

However, there is no sub input level controller...no plug for it!

Freaking RETARDS! WHY would PPI do such a dumb move? Do they really think a guy who wants a 5 channel isn't gonna do something about a sub level controller? I bet they thought that the salesman could step up the customer...fuck that, just give us intellegent featurs!

upgrade to what? It's their current top amp. Go figure. Still for the cash it looks tough to beat.

I never had a sub level controler so I won't know what I'm missing. Won't the sub level controle in my head unit do the same thing?

Are PPI amps still INSANE power hogs? Last time I installed one (2002ish) it almost required an alternator upgrade...
