will an e36 head unit fit in an e30?

its probably been asked before, but will any of the newer head units fit in an e30? because if your like, you dont want to lose that perfect orange glow from your dash. and u also want to keep the dash looking flush. thansk for the help.

Yes it fits in the hole if that is what you are asking... but it sticks out... is not flush with the surface.

The SQ of these decks also blows, and it would need custom wiring and an external amp.

    Not worth it.

There was a topic about this before, it was deemed not worth it.

You can find decks with amber lighting.

        Or buy orange tinted glasses.

        Sold it.

External amp is not necessary if your car is equipped with premium sound system. As for custom wiring, I wouldn't call it custom wiring, just need to solder on the right plug.

The deck sticks out so it's not flush, but it fits nicely, meaning that the edges are tight against the surface - if that makes any sense.

It'd be a great upgrade for non-audipphiles, simply looking for a CD playback option.

So some e36s came with in dash CD players?
You'll have to get an adapter for the radio plug, as they changed it IIRC on the e36s. I know the later ones are diff, maybe not the early ones
