Been outta the loop for a while, need alarm/keyless advice

my ride is an 88 325is. Some of you may remember me from years ago and my clean e30 with Borbet Wheels.

Anyway, I am moving out west to the BC area and have decided to get my car outta storage in SAskatchewan and use it as a daily driver. It hasn't had daily driver status in about 7 years, so obviously I have a bit of work cut out for myself. I have been driving it on a weekly basis for the past 5 years jsut to change the oil and keep things lubricated.

So I need some alarm/keyless entry advice, basically I need to know of a no-nonsence unit that will be reliable, but not be going off in the wee hours of the morning, or leaving me stranded on the side of the road due to electrical failures. Where to buy? what model to choose? essentially I just want something that will lock and unlock the doors and some basic level of alarm coverage would be usefull too.

Viper, Autostart, Compustar????? they all seem new to me. Heck the last time I was interested in this stuff, Viper had the monopoly and everyone had one of their systems.

    Thanks in advance

United Auto Security had a nice keyless/alarm system with sweet flip keys (~$170) - but the e30 option hasn't been available on their website for like a month now.

I'd send them an email or give them a call - I know I want one of their units, but haven't accumulated the $ for it yet.

'dk' had one installed by peerless on his 318ic - might want to hit him up for feedback on its use.

I thought the flips keys were junk? no?

Anyways - they have a OEM looking diamond key that looks awesome - same seller - search on ebay.
