trouble with cruise, 86 325es

Ok, so my cruise is not working. It has to be one of three things i think. The computer, the module, or the stalk. i think the ecu is good, it has been replaced recently it appears. And the module works, i think, i can hear it humm. THe stalk?

THis is the symptom. I installed the cruise control actuator because my old one was not working (i don't think). Now the new one is humming constantly when i turn the ignition on. i don't even have to turn the car on, it just hums when i trun the key once. So for now, i have the actuator unplugged up at the kick panel. any thoughts?

Get another Actuator and test it the same way. Another thing you can check is the plug behind the cluster. Sometimes it loosens off. It connects into the green ad on plug which is removable for cars without cruise.

sounds somewhat like a plan. can't really get another actuator though.

i'll check behind the cluster, and i probably need to check the stalk too. just wondering if anyone else had these symptoms and solved the problem?
