god, I actually bought the gen 1 new for 300 bucks back in the day. Great in hatch backs as bottom end FILL, not as a sub to compete with or with "attack".
But for $25 bucks, I;d buy one all day.

They suck IMO, people blow them up all the time, expecting more than what it is capable of.Leave a comment:

$25 is a no brainer. Was it complete? The used ones I found when I was looking were being sold for parts or missing the harness for $50-100!Leave a comment:

i picked up a basslink off CL for 25 bucks, the guy was extremely nice just trying to make a few bucks so I trusted him. Low and behold for 25 dollars I couldn't have been more pleased...
Does it sound like two traditional tens in your trunk? Definitely not, but does it ad a wide range of bass to your music that if tuned properly can sustain a pretty decent system? Definitely yes. If you find one for cheap in good working order, don't hesistate. Feel free to PM me with any questions!Leave a comment:

I have on installed.... its... bleh. but I love a lot of bass.. in the e30 it just adds to the sound.. but when I had it in my single cab pick up I had people asking how many subs I had all the time. no one could believe it was one 10" with a built in amp.
so if youre looking to feel your bass, don't buy it, its not at all what you want. but if youre looking for just some added umph to your lows, I would recommend it.Leave a comment:

I never got one. Seen too many bad ones being sold for parts and they require a special harness to operate. I opted for a slim 12" sub in a shallow sealed enclosure that fits behind the seat and a traditional amp setup instead of a combo like the Basslink. It sounds better than I thought it would. I think the basslink is good for hatches since it's in cabin and doesn't need a ton of power. It's also nice if you want to save space but I wasn't in love with the whole combination thing.Leave a comment:

I have a basslink in my '90 325i. I couldn't find anything as far as mounting it in the trunk. I ended up mounting it to a piece of plywood with the trunk carpet sandwiched between the wood and sub so it wouldn't slide around. Does anyone know how they're supposed to be mounted in the E30? Do you have to drill through the metal trunk floor?Leave a comment:

Rear seat ski-hole pass thru. It's a sheet of metal, dead center of the seat. Smack it. Seriously. It'll pop the tiny spot welds and you can bend it out like openning a can of tuna.Leave a comment:

I think fixing through the floor or the back seat will be fine.
How do you like the sound of the basslink in the 2-door trunk ?

I have basslink in my cabrio. It works just the way I like it. I placed mine in the trunk where the battery should be. I still have my whole trunk space.Leave a comment:

Got a used bigger amp one it's great for me just wanted some additional bass not a rattle maker. It also comes out of the car quickly so i like it and at just over a cubic foot it's great.Leave a comment:
