Hello. I drive an '87 325es and I was driving on the highway in the rain and out of no where my radio begins to shut on and off and my windshield wipers began to slow down rapidly, also my headlights became very dim to the point where it seemed like they weren't even on... as I get off my exit and slow down and pull up to a red light I give my car gas and it responds as if I am extremely low on fuel and I can not rev above 3000rpm then everything completely cuts out my engine everything and I can not start it again. I removed my battery and replaced with another still no ignition and my headlights are very dim but still turn on. I eventually just push started my car and made it home while it just putted and jerked back n forth as if it would get gas then cut out and get gas again. I have also had a problem with my starter this past month where my car randomly will not start then out of nowhere it seems as if nothing was ever wrong and it starts right up again. I have been searching around these forums and have read similar posts with these problems but I can't seem to find the exact answer. Thanks. Btw this is my first post sorry if it was a bit long just tried to cover all the details.

Ok so I had fully re-charged my battery earlier this week and threw it it today to check and see if relays were the problem or if it was the alternator.. My car started up no problem so I left it running and went to the trunk to disconnect the posstive and right after I did the car shut off immediately... this leads me to believe it is in fact my alternator. With all this said could there still be a possible a relay problem as well??
