My car came with MB Quart speakers in the front and back. I pulled the woofer and the model is RWC-130.
The trouble is, whoever put it in simply twisted a wire together to splice together the woofer and tweeter
. This is bad for 2 reasons- one, you have full signal going to both speakers, and 2- have you ever heard MB Quart tweeters? They are unbelievable strong- the last thing it needs is more signal going to it. I used to have some MB's in my old car, and with the crossover, I'd drop the tweets -6dB and then it was much more balanced.
Anyhoo- I've been browsing ebay for crossovers and there are a ton for not too much, but any idea on what would be appropriate for these speakers? Or, should I just ditch them?
EDIT- I plan to power them from a deck for the time being, no amp. Maybe someday, but I'd rather spend the money on track days. Just need music to satiate the wife.
