Help me pick out some speakers

Well, I figured I'd get some new speakers for my birthday, I'm going to be running them off my Pioneer HU amp... The speakers I have now are already re-wired so yah...

Can you guys recommend me some inexpensive... not crap.... speakers and remind me of the size for the rear premium and font kickpanel speakers?

    Thanks guys.

5.25" front midrange, ~1" front tweeters, same combo in the back deck. When replacing the ones in the back, just get coaxials and save a lot of cash. Also many 6.5" models will fit in the kick panels, much better for any type of bass production.

Anything MBQ on EBay is pretty affordable. New from a retail store (warranty claims, etc...I never buy audio on EBay) I have a thing for the Alpine lineup. The Type-S components and coaxials are decent for the coin. Type-R ones are even better, but I'm not sure of your budget.

      What do you consider "inexpensive?"

I was looking to spend ~$300 max on front and rear speakers... don't really care too much about the tweeters

i think you should save that $300 and spend it somewhere else.

Buying cheap speakers and running it on your headunit is so half-ass that imo it's not worth it. Perhaps you can compare your current system with someone who is running aftermarket speakers off the headunit.

If you insist on spending 3 bills on audio stuff, imo, you should just buy a good set of components for up front (lots of options for 300). Run it off your headunit in conjunction with the stock rear speakers, for now.

This way, if you ever wanna upgrade, you can just buy a Sub (and/or mid-range fillers for the rear), and a single external amp to power everything.

I already have a sub/external amp, but the amp isn't powerful enough to run speakers and the sub... I just want something to replace the rears b/c the angled part of the premium speakers rattle and sound like shit
