Just reinstalled my stock radio back into my '90 325i with premium audio after the PO installed a POS sony explode in there. i spliced everything back by matching up the wire colours, easy enough.
radio works, great! however, i have no AM reception whatsoever (just scans through over and over never stopping on any station) and my FM reception could be better. how good is the stock setup? because my favourite station (99.9 the buzz) is a difficult grab in montreal, however most cars pick it up with some static. on my e30 the reception is very staticky, i was expected better with a huge amplified antenna?
how high is the stock antenna supposed to go up, mine goes up about 6 inches over the roof line, it feels like there may be a missing level? the before last level is so much 'fatter' than the last one, is this normal?
for my issues, keep in mind that i've removed and reinstalled the amp, the check control, the antenna (rebuilt it) and parts of the dash. the cluster is currently not installed. i believe ive reconnected everything properly, what did i most likely miss?
