    Ground Wire Hiss

Basically I'm hearing this sound with out the volume even turned up to even 1, just when the deck turns on the hissing begins coming through the two front and two back 6 inch speakers. And when I press on the accelerator, the hiss grows and becomes a higher pitch. How should I go about re-grounding the wire to the car. And first of all, where do you guys think this connection error is occurring.

i got kinda the same thing. I know the battery is grounded to the body well as we had to redo everything when we swapped engines. I'm not sure what the deck is grounded to, probably the stock wiring setup. SHould I just rewire the deck ground to the a chassis point? Is the hiss we are getting coming from the engine ground?

    TIA!

Make sure power leads and speaker/RCA wires are well separated. If they are run across each other or next to each other you will get cross talk from the power lead.

I run speaker leads on one side of the car, and power on the other.

Absolutely NOT true: never has been. Shitty cheapass unshielded cables are the issue and should not be used in a car. I run power wires WITH RCAs all the time: I do not have noise issues.

Your "hiss" is likely just a shitty noisy korean pile of shit amp.

What deck/amp combo, and is it like a "white noise" kind of noise, or more like a whirring that changes pitch with throttle?

I had noise too, followed the pitch and rpm of the motor. Just swapped out the Kenwood deck the PO had in there for one of my Alpines, no noise. I didnt change anything else.

Its a brand new Alpine CDE102 and no additional amp. Just deck and Alpine SPS600C up front and 609s in the rear deck.
TIA, and if you figure out what to do with a strut bar I'd be happy to take one of those boxes off your hands.
Yes its that bullshit throttle noise where the pitch changes. I know the alternator has a funky ground to the motor, I just havent taken the time to change it yet.
