    No door chime and intermittent drivers side window

    Not that I necessarily want to have this operating, but my door open chime, when the key is in the ignition, has never worked since I picked up the car from the dealer in 1989. I think it happened when the dealer sent it to an alarm installer (for a so-called dealer installed alarm). I didn't miss the usually annoying "door ajar" chime, but I'd like to know why it's not working. The chime does work for the pre-freezing temp warning and speed setting alert.

    More importantly, my driver side window will intermittently stop going up and down. I have to open the door more than half way and then it works. Pull the door back in and it sometimes stops. Other times, it will work just fine. Creates a bit of problem at the local drive-through. I didn't want to start ripping the door apart if the problem is likely not within the door itself.

    Any ideas or fix possibilities would be greatly appreciated.

    I had a similar issue in the past. Pull the plug that connects in the door jam and clean both ends. Make sure it's seated properly.

      on the door jam plug if you can make sure all the wires in the plug are in correctly also

        Thanks for the tip, I'll check out the cable. Oddly, the window has been working since my initial post, but there might in fact be an intermittent connection. However, the door chime is still out of commission. I think it worked about 2 or 3 times since I had bought the car new from the dealer. I really haven't missed the functionality, but it bothers me that I don't know why it's not working. Love to figure it out. I still think it might have been something the dealer did when they had the alarm installed. I dislike mysteries.

          I feel you on the that one. had one myself that fixed itself and it STILL irritates the fuck out of me 6 months later lol
