need help with porting my box

ive got most of my box done, just need to get everything with the port figured out, but i have some questions. im going to be using a circle port up into the rear deck like jordan's setup and im having trouble calculating how much port length i need.

the box is 2.3 cu ft after sub displacement and the actual hole in my pvc pipe is 3" in diameter. im trying to tune to 32hz and its for a 12. any help would be much appreciated... if someone could help me out on aim that would be even better. my screen name is undi0s.

    thanks.

      5.897 inches.

2.3cu ft for a single 12? Holy oversize box...

Box size is different for every speaker pretty much... Power also comes into play when you determine the box size you need. Also the sound you are looking for. Generally... Use a larger box if you have less power... Use a smaller box if you have more power, unless you really know what youre doing. 2.3 cubes ported for a single 12 isnt really THAT big either.

the RMS for my sub is 600 watts, i have a 500 watt amp on it, hence the large box. i got everything installed, and i had forgotten how much i love bass listening to only my front components for a few months.

ended up going with a 7" long port to give me a net volume of 2ft^3 and a 32hz tuning.

I put it through 2 different versions of winisd and got 2 numbers, I just chose the longer one because its easier to trim a port down than extend it :P
