That is the service indicator reset light wire. Should lead to the diagnostic connector.

if you don't experience the " hot start problem" than this is probably the wire that is supposed to be disconnected

If it's for the M42 its for the catalytic converter. If your car is equipped with one then you should leave it unplugged. If not, do the latter. I believe this was for euro cars.

                PIC for reference:

It is the RESET wire for the service lights. If you power this wire, it resets the lights. I'm going off the ETK and the color of the wire. It's not the cat wire as that wire is black/white. Your wire is white/blue.

Yeah im going to disconnect it... oddly my car has been having cold start problems... lately having a bad idle and shutting off.. I thought it was my ICV but noticed this unplugged, so i plugged it in... Ive since cleaned my ICV with Braklean and i still have a shitty idle.. i will unplug and see if this is why... I will also spray some WD-40 because i now realize I didnt do this...

I dont think this is for the service lights... after looking at the wire It does look black and white to me.. not white and blue.... plus my service lights are working... and have been now that i actually think about it... thanks for the observation though...
