    Removal of trunk tar

    Hello,
I am thinking about removing the trunk tar from my car to help make up for the added weight of my sytem. Since I don't want any road noise, I will coat the entire trunk with Dynamat.

Do you guys think it would be beneficial or pointless to remove the trunk tar, and then Dynamat it? I figure the Dynamat will weigh less than the trunk tar.

How much added noise will there be without the trunk tar? Will the Dynamat make up for the removed tar?

Let me know what you guys think.

i agree...screw dynamat its like wearing a lead jacket and trying to run from the cops... sorta :?

they even make sound deadener in a can that is 100times lighter than dynamat and is essentially does the same thing.

I have had some experience with the eDead stuff, but I think the can stuff is just easier IMO

Yeah, I wasn'y going to use Dynamat anyways, cuz they are too overpriced. I was just useing them as a reference because everyone knows what dynamat is.
I just looked at the eDead stuff and it looks pretty cool. Paint on application. Have you used it?
So you guys would recommend pulling the heavy stock metal trunk tar stuff out and then putting in sound deadening? I think I am going to do this, because I'm sure the eDead stuff works better than the big heavy puzzle peices in my trunk, pluss it will weigh much less. I want to lighten the rear end to make up for the weight of my subs and amps without decreasing sound quality.
