Check panel oil level light stuck on.

Check panel oil level light is stuck on but, according to the dipsptick the loil level is perfect . After some searching is seems fairly common for the sensor in the pan to go bad but not wanting to spend any money right now as we just moved can I just unplug the sensor and and have the light go out or will it stay on? Is there a wire I can cut or a connection I can make to turn it off? Not a fan of hitting the check button every time I need to start the vehicle... :-(

    Thanks

Replace the sensor. Stupid not to.

Leave the light on, it will remind you to check the oil.

I already check the oil regularly.

I just said I don't want to spend the money on a new sensor just yet, its 140 some I don't feel like spending after moving states.

nahh, just take it out and clean the shit outa it. Theres only a ball/float on a sensor, and sometimes it sticks. I just used some brake/carb cleaner cleaned it up nice. worked ever since, and never had any problems
