Doing a full Sound system rewire... Need a little hel

Im doing all new wiring in my 84 318i and got a quick q. Im taking out all my old speaker wire and putting in new and higher gauge speaker wire. Where do i get a feed for the acc and the constant power for the stereo?

The reason im doing all new wiring is because the original harness was cut badly and is basically unusable

Don't quote me on this but I'm guessing you can splice the acc into the wire coming from the ignition cylinder, not sure where to take the constant other than the battery. I'm gonna hafta do this as well in a few months when I have time and get different speakers. The stock wire harness in mine was taken out completely. The po did a horrible job trying to wire up some crappy speakers.

      12v battery - Violet/grey
      12v switched - red/green
      Ground - Brown/black
      Illumination - Grey/red

I'd start there, but you might want to check with a meter or test light to make sure before you wire up.

The logical solution is to get to the factory harness and extend it if needed.

You will have a white wire to run your power antenna as well as the colors listed above.

i ran my own 12v from the posts in the enginebay, near the firewall hole for the harness. the stock wiring kept shorting out and resetting my power to the head unit because of the draw it was taking at higher volume. too much bass in the place. :)
