I have installed 3 '55's so far...we all like them fine. Good clean shit.
The "Bass Engine Pro" is kinda cool, allows you to switch from F+R high pass with Sub out to a true 3 way configuration, with a low pass (still with sub level control) a band pass and a high pass, all with variable slope and independent frequency control. Nice touch there is the "Fader" setting goes away in the primary menu.
I would like to see an easier interface, but if you can read the manual (just as clear as mud, I tell ya) seems pretty easy to get used to.
All in all, one of the best decks on the market today.

Thanks. I have two older Alpine HU's now. One is a cheaper model ($300) and the other I have in my cabrio. It was like $499 new.
I want the 9855 now though.Current BMW's:

I bought it last night thinking I could just go home and remove my older Alpine CD deck and use the same witing harness and just plug it in. I was wrong. The harness is different.
I'll install it tomorrow and take pictures during the day and night.Current BMW's:
