stereo install Need help.

well Ive installed a few stereos before but i've always bought a harness adapter well My stereo in my car went out Just really old I wanted to replace it so I bought a new stereo well whom ever installed it befor me just cut the old harness and wired it directly to the wires. Leaving me with no clue to what goes where.

My car is a 89 325is with the premium sound and I need to know what wires go to what? I'm stereo noob........

Look for "Stereoinstaller1" ... he's the man when it comes to that ...

+1 he is a stud at that and he will give you tips on how to figure out which wire is which and all that. is it only cut once? you still have majority of the stock wiring harness? enough to see anyway?

12v battery - Violet/grey
12v switched - red/green
Ground - Brown/black
Illumination - Grey/red

I'd start there, but you might want to check with a meter or test light to make sure before you wire up.
