How the hell do you connect a radio with the stock dimmer switch?

So anyone know if the plastic kick panels from a late model car will fit an early model? I want my good speakers from the 88 (plus IMO, the carpet looks like shit) but I don't know how the carpet mounts in early model cars. I'm about to go mess with it but it'd be nice to get a yes or no from someone whose done it.

Also, I'm going to take the tweeter pods from the 88 as well, how do they get wired? Do they just go from the tweeter to the speaker in the kick panel?

      The kick panels fit fine.

You will need to use the kicker speakers from the 88 to be able to use the tweeters. They have a built-in crossover on the back of the speaker, and a second set of plugs into which the tweeters go.

Hmm...well when I bought the car, the previous owner upgraded all the speakers with MB Quart's and ran all new Monster wires to all of them. The kick panel speakers only have one positive and one negative, but it's the screw type connector. I might just connect the tweeters to the same spot and see how they sound.

You will just smoke them if there is no crossover. Dig deeper, you might have crossovers buried in the kickpanel or near the DME.

Fuck! And I just put everything back together. Now I gotta take everything back out. FML.

Also, maybe my car was in an accident and the previous owner didn't tell me, but the kick panel from a late model car is not a direct swap. I had to cut the shit out of it. :hitler:
