port and sub on same face

any idea on how I can fit a 4" aeroport and a 12" sub within the skipass opening? i see luke has two ports on his box, what size are those? 2"?

would it be bad to cut out the metal behind the seat a little bigger then the stock opening

    I would stick to a dvc 10"

I find no need for anything more from Luke's box

How does that answer the question? I wasn't asking for suggestions or advice on size/type of driver, but rather the best way to fit a 12 inch sub with 4 inch aeroprt into the ski pass opening/ if its possible

Luke uses 2 x 2". You won't fit anything bigger than that. Just make sure you flare them well. Pointing ports into your seat back is kind of pointless when comparing to (2) firing directly into the cabin.
12" is a stretch, 10" with 2 2" barely fits in the opening.

          1. Buy a measuring device, with inch increments.
          2. Measure the dimensions of the ski pass, in whatever direction you wish.
          3. Realize that none of the dimensions you just measured are larger than 16".
          4. Slowly come to the understanding that no one here can repeal the laws of physics.
          5. Get some tin snips and hack the fuck out of your car.

I was only asking if there were any tips or if cutting the metal in the back seat was common practice. take the spoon and shove it up your ass, and a flared 4" aeroport has a bigger that 4" inch footprint so you're wrong about it needing to be at least 16". And on a diagonal it most definitely is bigger than 16" so maybe you need the help.

on another note, does anything special need to be taken into account if the port sticks out of the box, say as it going through my top rear deck... I would assume just figure out the volume of the port tube that still remains in the box and use that to calculate final volume.

No, you asked if they'd fit the ski pass, which you could have figured out with a tape measure.

I'm not the dumbass trying to reinvent the wheel. Hell, you didn't know if the port tubing volume had to be taken out of the volume of the box! Good luck making this abortion sound good.

                        No sir, I use 2) 3" ports.

You have a correct understanding on how to calculate port displacement.

This is the part about why it took me so long to figure out what to do and how to do it. My goal was ports and woofer into the cabin, with ZERO cutting.

Now my car, I cut the shit out of. To get the face of a 12" woofer in the ski pass, I simply recess the woofer into the box 2.25". In my car, I built the box to keep the face of the woofer vertical, so it shows the magnet nicer in the window in the trunk.

So, in my car, where I have 2) 4" Aeroports, I ran them through the rear deck, which means the box has to be at least 6" deep on the top.

I can get a 10" and 2) 3" normal ports in the face, but no way to get more than that.

perfect, I think im gonna go through the top and cut through the deck, what kind of pipe are you using for the ports and those elbows? is that just schedule 20 PVC?

I don't know the actual name, but it is drain pipe. Tightest elbows and cheapest.
