I don't get it. You get 3dB for a second woofer. It'd make WAY more sense to run a smaller midrange and a larger woofer. It's a nice job, though.
Yeah, but if those were angled up, the comb effect would control the dispersion too, so you could have seriously punchy midbass.
Also, don't forget: that 3db thing is assuming the same power. Likely, that is running off of 2 channels of an amplifier that is stable at 2 ohms, thus a doubling of power, too.
Might be as much as 4db!
If I were gonna do that, it would be a 7" midbass, a 3" soft dome midrange and a ribbon tweeter.

Given how good 6.5s are these days, I'd want to go bigger than 7. But that's completely different from what they did there. I completely agree that it would be nice to go 3-way, though.
I still have some 3-way infinity 6x9's and 6.5's, and tweeters with "ceramic" cones that I've been meaning to install for about 6 years now.. probably outdated by now tho
That last door panel looks nice. It looks like the door pull would terminate nicely on the lower panel...pretty sexy, if you ask me.
Oddly enough, I had missed this thread and that door panel was the only one that caught my attention because of the position of the speakers and looks of it.
