    New Headunit

I've got the stocker in my 87 "e". I picked up a new one, nothing special, but my stock is shot, and I'd like a CD player and sub hookups. Question is, if I take out the stock one, will it fuck up the security system? Do I have to do anything so I don't get locked out of my car or can I just take the old one out and be done with it?

I pulled the stock headunit the other day and have been running around with no stereo (problems with the later stages of my install) and I have had no problems. When it says that it is a anti-theft stereo, it just means that if you disconnect power from the stereo, you have to enter the code to get it going again.

Alright, that's what I was wondering, if the security was just for the headunit and not for the car.
