    Stock Antenna Alternatives?

I need to replace my stock antenna because it is broken like 99% of them. I live in NYC where we thankfully have many stations so I would still like to keep FM radio (removing it completely is out of the question). I will also be installing Alpine CDA-105 and have premium speakers if it makes any difference.

I know 318ti antenna fits, but its $$$. Are there any other antennas that do not extend like the stock one and fit without much modification?

Try www.318ti.org for the ti antenna. I got my full "kit" for about $40 off of a part out. IMO it looks better then a retractable antenna too.

Those dinky "stick on" antennas suck ass for car use, they are intended for fiberglass boats. I mean yeah, they work OK, especially if distance is not an issue (like NYC compared to say, Dallas) but poorly compared to normal antennas. If top of the line reception is not as important as the clean look (fucking bad ass, BTW), do either the one posted or the "marine" version, either will do OK.

The 318 one does kick ass, but I prefer a motorized antenna, personally.

I have done enough of all of the above to say as far as performance, you are never gonna find anything near as good as the original stock antenna.
