Need help, issue with Auxilary fan/control

Ok. Quick back story. My car is a heinz57 of a few cars. For wiring it should be 84 325 harnass. Exhaust burnt hole through passenger side floorboard, Ignited the carpet. Burnt up some wires in that area. Not sure if this is my problem or if i have a problem somewhere else but i wanted to start with that. I Spliced and fixed all my wires that got burned. There where 2 wires down there tho that didnt go to anything it looked like. One was a thick black wire with a ring terminal with electrical tape around it (didnt get touched in the fire) And a purple with brown stripe small wire not sure where this one goes.

    On to my problem:

So after getting everything spliced up, Everything is working correctly except for the ac/heat/aux fan/ control panel. If i push the Recycle air button or ac button nothing happens nor lights. If i turn the fan on nothing happens there either. Not on any of the settings. I checked the fuse box and didnt see anything but will double check tomorrow. Does any of that wiring controlling that portion of the car run in the passenger side?

Any suggestions of things to check or places to check?

    Thank you

Hey dude, this is Kenan guy with the m50 e30.

I don't think none of those wires go to the fan. I've had my car almost apart and didn't see anything, but then again, yours is a 84 mine's a 91.

I would jumper your radiator fan switch to see if the fan comes on, if it does, then it's a fuse/relay/switch problem.

If not, then it's the motor.

On the other hand, one of those wires may run to the a/c switch and got melted to the floor or something, i'd check that as well.

I use to have an 84, I'm not sure what the wiring goes to. Does the fan even work when you just turn on the fan? If it does then you probably have a bad switch. The problem with some of the BMW wiring is that it's all on a fail safe type setup, when one fails all fail. Really crappy thing but that's how it's all wired.
