    Amp power fuse silly question

My amp comes with ready with a fuse slot installed................I'm going to stupidly ask, does this mean I don't have to have a power cable with an in-line fuse? Thanks.

The fuse at the battery is NOT to protect the equipment, it is intended to protect the wire in case of a wreck or a dead short or something.

    Closing SOON!

All I needed to know, thanks! I can just make a power wire with an in-line fuse correct? What gauge wire would you recommend?
