    Speaker question

I know in an e30 the best sound is acheived by powering the front speakers more than the rears (from what ive read) So if this is true, couldnt i just buy nice components for the front, amp em, and leave the stock premiums in the rear? This would make my audio install quite a bit easier, mostly because Im broke, and running 1000rms to my sub alone so i dont have much more power to spare before i kill my battery driving down the road. Any input from anybody?

    Thanks,
    Jesse

    Hi there,

from what I could gather here and there, your soultion is the best.

Front amped components for good staging.
Rear un-amped or lowly amped for small rear fill ( not mandatory, depends on your taste ).
    Sub.

    Cheers Pierre

With all that power going to your sub how are you going to hear 5 1/4's at all up front?
        in for pics of sub/amp

try it, ive done it before its not that you wont hear the speakers its that they will sound noticeably worse than the amped pair. You can get it to sound how you want just tune it to your taste....

Sounds like itll work then, thanks for all the feedback. i dont have the sub or amp yet but its a tc sounds axis 12" and a sundown saz-1000d, gonna be in a box firing through the ski pass. The whole project is gonna be posted soon as i get it done.

"tc sounds axis 12" and a sundown saz-1000d" - overkill for an e30 to be honest. Weight, power, current draw... Your cabin is small, you don't need much to fill it with low end. I did single 12" old Kicker with low excursion IB in e30 with ~ 200wrms and it has plentiful bass.

Oh i know its total overkill, i have a kicker comp 12 with 300rms going to it now and its a decent amount of bump, but im a total basshead and eventually want to do some local stereo competitions with it

The picture with the sub and amp is small, but its a sundown saz-1000d

5 1/4" speakers behind some plastic kick panels at your feet is about as shitty as it gets. Definitely the worst feature on our cars imo.
