    Stereo Help!

I am trying to remove a crappy aftermarket stereo from my e30 318i, it seems to be stuck.... I tried the puller keys, no go, butter knives, no go, and i dont wanna break my dash cover. Where could I get it out from? Thanks!

Go to your local car stereo shop with a $5 bill.

Do NOT walk into the store, walk into the install bay and ask an installer if he will sell you 2 sony keys.

All you need are 2 sony "keys", they slip into slots on either side of the deck and release the latch tabs.

well i dont know if this would change anything, but i tried getting it out with the removal keys provided with my alpine deck, they click into place for the sony, but it doesnt come out. but i will pick up some removal keys tommorow and give her a go. thanks!

ok, or it doesn't post what i said! I tried using a pair of pioneer pullers, they click in, and the right side pulls out a bit, but the left side doesn't seem to. picking up some sony ones tonight.

Got latch keys, I already had some that I had kind of tried, she is still stuck, the right side moves out a bit, but the left refuses to move...

pull equally, if youre pulling on the right side harder than the left youre probably just gettin it in a bit of a bind, of course if you arent getting the left side to click in this wont help at all

I'll give her another go tonight, if i dont get any luck, I'll just pull the dash cover, and take the whole mounting out, and figure it out the easy way.

thats not the easy way. the hvac panel isnt hard to remove but its alot more difficult than pulling the stereo out
