+1 on that i just removed my hvac panel when i had this problem and removed it in no time without damage of course

Finally got it, the OP(? is that correct? owner previously?) had decided to bend all the tabs in the outer shell in and out so that they stuck to the hvac panel and into the stereo, it was a bitch to say the least. but got the new unit installed!Comment
