    Rear fill or not?

In our cars, how much of a difference does deleting rear speakers make for passengers in the back? I want to run with no rear speakers as not to upset sound in the front and to make my build easier, but if all my passengers are going to hear is the sub in the back without em then I'll leave them in. Has anyone heard both setups or have an opinion on either?

    Thanks,
    Jesse

I say rear fill works well in these cars IF you are using all stock locations.

If you have gone off the deep end and built something, and have big sound up front, don't bother.

I've got 4 5.25" PPIs in my car, all amped, all in stock locations and a Luke Box. The rears are turned down a little bit and it makes for an awesomely balanced system. I WISH I had more of an excuse to have passengers in the back. Occasionally I'll hang out with my little sister and I'll let her sit in the massage chair (AKA, back middle seat) . She's 8, the music drowns her out quite nicely

You've gone off the deep end several times over with your front end setup methinks, but it sounds fucking glorious.

Pretty much what i figured, ill stay with all 4 in stock locations for now then.

I cannot see why anybody wouldn't do the rear fill. It makes a HUGE difference in your brain, and the way things sound more natural and less forced or staged.

Every time I am glad I went to the extra trouble.

Jay, if you ever make it to the picnic, make sure to hear my car. Rear fill would only make it worse...but my front stage is kinda silly. I even invented a BS description to impress the audio geek fags: "Quasi-Aperiodic Tapered Quarter Wave Tubes" which is in fact what they are...

I don't listen to it very loud, maybe thats the difference. It just seems more natural to my brain. ( I use the fader for a "go / no-go" test)
