Defect on amp power cable

I'm re-routing some of the stereo wires & cables (po ran power, patch cords and speaker wires together down the middle of the car...battery is in the front on my early car) and found a black spot on the power cable from the battery to the amp. The sheath is unbroken but there are some indentations where it appears the the wire was crimped. Should I replace this or what?
