    Wow! 6.5" woofer

I have the same woofers (4 of em) in a ported box tuned to 38Hz. Dont have a video came at the moment. Plan on taking some vid this weekend.

These lil speakers are bad ass, 13mm Xmax!

People always ask me what size speakers i have in the trunk, and when i tell them 6.5 they "say no way let me see"

Awesome. Kick drums like whoa--my setup could do with a lot more midbass.

What sort of power do you run to them, and what SPL do you see in the cabin?
    paint sucks

Is it just the music or is there a LOT of rattling/vibration?

And I don't really see the point of running these over one 10". Looks like it takes up almost as much room as a 10" Luke box.

I run one of these http://www.streetperformance.com/par...r-bb12501.html

Not sure about the SPL, but I'm moving a bunch air. I got almost the same cone space as two 15's plus the ports

I see what ur saying, but I'm running 10 speakers in the cabin alone. Two 5.25 componet sets and two mid bass drivers. I also did it to be different, I like to see the look on peoples faces when they see these lil woofers doing work.

I was looking at these, when I was planning 6.5 woofers for my kick panels in my e34. I decided on CDT M6s instead. They seem to be MUCH more accurate. But the Tang Bands are pretty nice. Good for doing a cheap home system.

OK, just so you get set straight, your math sucks.

Your 4 6" woofers have just over half the cone area of a single 15", not even close to a pair of 15's.

From TBs spec sheet, effective cone area is 0.0140 M2 (square meters)

From a fairly typical "big" 15" spec sheet, effectiove cone area is 0.091 M2 (square meters).

              So .014 X 4 = .056 square meters. The 15" is nearly twice that of the 4 6".

Just in general, it takes a LOT of little shit to equal one big shit, thus the old saying "there is no replacement for displacement".

              Luke

YOUR RIGHT LUKE. I was just taking 6.5 times 4 thats how I came up with that number. Guess i should have taken a closer look at that spec sheet.
Whats you take on those woofers Luke? They are a bunch of guys on YOUTUBE running them in a T line box.

I think Seth was going to build up a box for two of these... wonder what ever happened there.

id just run 1 L5 with a smaller box, less weight, and more bump. lol idk what the advantage to your setup is..

I like your style. Although, at this point, you would be better with 1 larger sub, but do what you want. Sure does look cool.

In high school I was doing the same thing with 3 JLW6 8" in a sealed box. People couldn't believe you could make that much sound from 3 small speakers.

My old sub setup at home was 3- 5.25" woofers ported, tuned to 40-45, can't remember exactly now. My friend's father was into enclosure design. Took a single 5.25" woofer, placed it into the tower box he made with numerous walls and chambers inside and you would've swore there was at least a 10" sub built into it somehow.

*Edit, man, i've been out of the game for a while. What are these T-line boxes i see now?
