    Wiring Tool Kit/Box/Connectors

What wiring tools do you guys have? Did you buy a nice little box that has plenty of apprpriate connections etc? I just bought some channellock crimpers but am looking for a box that has all the connections i need to get started (and will refill later of course). Where did you get them?

    Get one of these,

Makes it a whole lot easier, doesn't damage the wire/insulation, automatically adjusts for any wire size.

I'm still looking for a place that sells quality solderless connects for a good price. Usually i hit up lowes/HD and buy what i need specifically, but if someone knows of a good kit online please post it.

      These are better:

memorabilia collectibles clothing "computer accessories" Fry's "Fry's Electronics" frys.com Arena Football League AFL San Jose Sabercats Football Team "San Jose Sabercats" "Sabercats Football" "The San Jose Sabercats" thesanjosesabercats.com "Charley Chip"

As far as connectors go, just buy a few boxes of connectors from the auto parts store. I use red and blue butt connectors the most, but also have an assortment of spade and ring terminals as well. A small tackle box works well to organize everything.

I have some knipex pliers that top notch (made in Germany). I noticed that they also sell several crimp sets that look very nice. http://www.knipex.com/index.php?id=1...3&groupID=1314

But im sure they would cost an arm and a leg. I got a hand me down crimp set from my dad with 20 or so assorted connectors. It never seemed to have the right size so when ever I bought ones i needed I paid the extra few bucks to go from the 10 pack to the 50 pack. My dad got a small box of assorted connectors from a job. Between those and the ones I bought I have a briefcase sized organizer full of them now.

What sizes are best to have on hand (butt connectors etc)?

It's always good to have an assortment, but the one's you will use most are red (18-20 ga) and blue (14-16 ga)

Personally I love my Klein strippers/crimpers.

I use connectors from AAMPOFAMERICA.com. You have to have a business license to buy from them, but I use the fully insulated Nylon (see through) connectors, they are lovely.

I do not care for the 3M connectors, even though they are undeniably better quality, I do not like the insulation and I do not like the barrel thickness.

The opaque ones from the4 auto parts store SUCK. The ones that go "crunch" with the cheap insulation, like Home Depot or whatever sells suck, just miserable.

Personally, I use typical sizes of "Butt Connectors", the pink, blue and yellow most. Of course, 1/4" female fully insulated spade lugs get more than their fair share of abuse around here too.

Would anyone be interested in getting top quality connectors? I can order a bunch and sell them in bags of 100 if you guys want.

Yes! Can you put together a great "starter" kit of all the most commonly used connections for the e30 for me? And help me pick out the best box (tacklebox) to store them in?
